Mistake #1: Not using tags appropriately

If you do not pay close attention to this process your items will be just not as competitive to the market as your competitors’ products. We would like to give some light about the process. The more “compound tags” you use the best is for attracting customers. Evaluate your specific keywords and improve your tags in order to achieve more visibility.

Mistake #2: Product Deletion


Some of the new sellers on the platform tend to delete their items completely from the store when they are out of stock. This prevents future interest in your Seller Profile and your products. Some sellers get worried about low sales when they only have 5 items in their shop.  Unfortunately you’re not going to get a lot of sales unless you have a large variety of items in your shop. It is okay to change the status of your item to out of stock instead of deleting it. This also prevents future interested clients to ask about your product and prevents you from making sales and having new purchases. There is no magic number of items to keep in stock, but if you have more items available for sale then there’s a bigger chance that you’ll sell more items.

Mistake #3: Incorrect Pricing

Mistake #3: Poor Photography

Pictures sell. As one chinese proverb says it “A picture is worth a thousand words”. A good picture, however, can bring a lot of sales for your business and that is why you should invest in good photos for your items. The customer needs to see a detailed example of what they’re purchasing. Photos that are dark or blurry won't catch shoppers’ attentions. You can either invest in good camera yourself or search for a decent priced photographer who can do it for you, but you shouldn't neglect the photography.

Mistake #4: Not detailed description


When selling items online it is extremely important to be extra detailed.  You just can’t list a product with few sentences in your description. People will want to get a detailed picture of they are going to buy before they do. If you do not explain in details the chances are they will move onto the next listing. Your description space is the place when you make a statement about what your products is about, your key selling features and the benefits of having your product. Use this place wisely, add extra care and keywords to help your business show the best of you, your items and your dedication to your customers. A good description is also good for your SEO efforts. The more details you have, the better customer acquisition you will have.

Mistake #5: Not putting enough effort
